Unfolding Sustainability through Innovative Green Digital Solutions

Entrepreneurs in the digital industry have created powerful innovations to generate and process data, communicate globally, and improve productivity. Nevertheless, green sustainability is still an ongoing challenge. So far, the digital industry has overlooked the related environmental issues it has created - it accounts for 2% of all GHG emissions per year, as much as air transportation.

Main Topics

It is time to unfold the potential of digital solutions in creating services contributing to the protection of the environment, developing responsible information and communication technologies, and designing products that, through their use and manufacturing process, are more sustainable.

Some of the topics that will be covered during the summer school are:

  • Internet surfing through sustainable websites
  • Fair and green mobile hardware technology and communications
  • Hardware and software durability, with standards for energy efficiency
  • Corporate Digital Responsibility
  • Sustainable servers and data storage
  • Blockchain and AI on energy consumption

Intended Audience

The Summer School is open to young professionals as well as Bachelor or Master students, who want to deep-dive in emerging digital technologies and learn how to turn these technologies into business. Location

The Summer School takes place at the Campus Beaulieu, the scientific and technical center of the University of Rennes. This was one of the first universities of excellence in France and is one of the top universities in Europe.

The city center of Rennes can be reached within 10 minutes via the subway / bus line. Together with the EIT students, we want to experience Rennes and the beautiful region with its great variety of cultural, sports, and social activities.
