Digital Cities as Infrastructures for Smart Mobility

Wireless connectivity for vehicles enables the communication between cars and their internal and external environments, which will improve traffic safety, instantaneous alarming of emergency services, optimise routing and planning, and make public transport services more flexible towards the individual user.
This Summer School programme will present smart mobility techniques at a ready-to-apply level to give the participants all knowledge needed to organise, optimise and allow a smart organisation of the urban mobility, which aims at identifying the needs of urban population moving in a digital city for all purposes connected to its family, work and entertainment life.
What happened at this location in the previous year
- 33 students worked on cases in cyber security and privacy dealing e-identification and profiling, e-health and mobile devices and systems.
- Participants were able to visit the Security Operations Centre of Reply in Milan, the Telcom Italia Lab and the FIAT Research Centre in Trento to get direct contact with industry experts and researchers.
- Speakers from University of Texas – Dallas, IBM Research Zurich, CEA LIST and Telecom Italia shed light on the importance and implementation of data security and privacy for ICT applications.
